BRIEF JOB DESCRIPTION AND OVERVIEW
We are looking for a Baker/Pastry Prep who will be responsible for the production of all bread, desserts, pastries, and fresh pasta within the restaurant. You would be working with a team of other bakers and pasta makers. The ideal candidate will be experienced in baking, and pasta making and possess the knowledge to develop and create tasty desserts and pastries.
Responsibilities and Duties
Prepare a wide variety of baked goods, pastries and fresh pasta
Decorate baked goods and pastries with an artistic touch
Open and close the baking station in an organized manner
Maintain a precise ethic of execution and organization
Maintain health and safety regulations in all kitchen and dining areas
Follow directions and be able to handle feedback
Possess the ability to work well with a team and under pressure
Maintain up-to-date knowledge about baking and pasta making arts and ingredients
Run and assemble tableside desserts
REQUIREMENTS
2 years of baking experience in a fast-paced environment
Solid communication and teamwork skills
Able to work under pressure
Able to follow recipes and instructions accurately
Confident culinary technique and skills
Effective time management skills
Physically able to stand for long periods
A high school diploma is a plus

ABOUT CESARINA
Cesarina is a daughter, mother, and grandmother who nurtures her community with her food and hospitality. To sit at her dinner table is to know the true foundation of Italian culture. Coming together and being surrounded by people you love to share delicious food prepared with the same love and care as that of a grandparent. This is the experience that we strive to bring to our guests. The concept began when newlyweds Niccolo and Cesarina moved to San Diego and began crafting fresh pasta (making fresh craft pasta?) at local farmers' markets. Together with friends Giuseppe and Giuseppe, Italian natives who also share the same vision and passion, an idea was sparked and thus the Cesarina family was born. We are a 100+ seat restaurant with an open-air "Pastificio" where we craft all of our pasta and bread. We pride ourselves on making everything (yes, everything!) in-house and from scratch with only the best ingredients, providing service that is both comforting and humbly tailored to each guest, and giving our family on this side of the world a real taste of Italian food culture. We are incredibly proud of our first year’s success having been named SD Mag’s Best Italian restaurant 2019, and most importantly, the rave reviews we receive from our neighborhood and community- 4.8 and upon all major reviewing sites!
