The Episcopal Church of the Redeemer is seeking a part-time Administrative Assistant for 5-10 hours per week. This position is responsible for providing administrative and organizational support to a church averaging 60 worshippers, their staff, and committees. Pay will be hourly based on experience and can be up to 75% remote.
Generally the person in this position must:
- Be a person of genuine Christian character who understands this role as a ministry in line with the mission and vision of the church.
- Present a positive "first face" of the church consistent with the love of Christ.
- Have the ability to interact with parishioners, guests, committees, and staff in an enthusiastic manner that is helpful, courteous, pleasant, and professional.
- Ensure the office runs smoothly; develop and recommend improved office procedures and systems.
- Be able to independently and proactively complete tasks and communicate to others.
- Understand confidences and use discretion in discussions of sensitive matters, including financial information.
- Serve as the Priest in Charge’s executive assistant.
Job Requirements:
- At least 2 years administrative experience
- Must be able to work independently in an office environment
- Ability to be physically present in the church office at least 2-3 hours per week (the remainder of the work can be done remotely)
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously
- Excellent attention to detail, organization, and priority management is essential.
- Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to interact with all levels of staff, committees, and membership.
- Ability to operate all office equipment independently, including, but not limited to, telephone, computer and copier equipment.
- Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook proficiency

Pay: $17.17 - $18.33 per hour
