Certified Medical Assistant
Apex Spine Institute is looking for a Full -Time Certified Medical Assistant
Days: Mon-Thurs 0800-1700; Fridays 0800-1430

The CMA job duties include, but may not be limited to the following:
- Facilitate the needs of our Spine surgeon in both clinic and by working with his ancillary staff to ensure his patients are safely prepared and ready for surgery.
- Collects patient assessment data to include height, weight, vital signs, chief complaint/symptoms, current medications, etc. for assessment by licensed staff.
- Transports patients through office.
- Prepares the patient for provider evaluation, including obtaining specimens, positioning for exams, listing medications, and assisting during exams and procedures.
- Maintains work area, exam treatment rooms in a clean, safe manner; restocks with supplies and instruments; and sterilize reusable equipment as needed.
- Documents patient information in the medical record to include update treatment procedures, medication refills, test results, patient concerns, etc.
- Assists with lab procedures, including collecting urine specimens, labeling all specimens with accurate patient ID as ordered by the physician.
- Assists with referral authorizations for specialists and pre-authorization for testing and ancillary services as directed by licensed staff, provider or mid-level practitioner.
- Performs clerical and office functions as directed
Required qualifications:
- Medical assisting experience in a clinic setting (1 year or more)
- Washington Medical Assistant Certification upon hire
Preferred qualifications:
- American Heart Association BLS Provider certification
- Graduate of accredited school for medical assistants or alternate training program
- 6 months prior experience providing a high level of customer service in a fast-paced environment
- 12 months previous experience in a healthcare setting working with an Electronic Health record (EHR)

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
