Job Summary:
High Point Aerotechnologies (HPA) a DZYNE company, is seeking a meticulous senior-level SDET to review and contribute the creation of designs for production software. The SDET's responsibility is to add assurance for current functionality by adding automated testing for the production software. As such, an SDET is a test professional with sufficient programming ability to read and understand the intended functionality and then develop test cases for continued quality assurance.
The SDET role plays an important part in our company’s product development process. Our ideal candidate will be responsible for conducting tests before product launches to ensure software runs smoothly and meets client needs, while being cost-effective. Qualifications:
- Understand best practice methodologies in structuring test scenarios and confirming expected outcomes
- Have general expertise in developing with modern programming languages, such as Python and Java
- Have excellent time management and organizational skills as well as strong communication skills.
- Have a passion for designing, developing, and testing and the ability to upgrade your technical skills within the constantly changing technology sector.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Design, execute, maintain, and report test cases to be executed daily against the company codebase.
- Review requirements, specifications, and technical design documents to provide timely and meaningful feedback Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, product managers, and quality assurance, to understand software requirements and design effective test strategies.
- Develop, maintain, and execute automated test scripts using industry-standard testing frameworks and tools.
- Identify and prioritize test cases for automation, considering factors such as risk, complexity, and business impact.
- Participate in code reviews, providing valuable insights into testability, quality, and potential areas of improvement in the codebase.
- Design and implement performance and load testing solutions to assess software stability.
- Contribute to the continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipeline by integrating automated tests and monitoring testing outcomes.
- Investigate, troubleshoot, and document software defects and inconsistencies, working closely with development teams and leadership to facilitate timely resolution.
- Stay updated with emerging testing methodologies, tools, and industry best practices, and apply them to enhance the overall quality assurance process.
- Collaborate in defining and maintaining testing-related documentation, including test plans, test cases.
- Actively participate in development processes, ensuring testing activities align with goals and project timelines.
- Lead the design, implementation, and execution of release processes. Assess risks associated with releases and develop strategies to mitigate potential impacts.
- Generate regular reports and metrics to track release performance, identify trends, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Proficiency in Java and Python.
- Demonstrated experience with building test automation frameworks from the ground up.
- Solid understanding of software testing principles, methodologies, and practices.
- Experience with API testing, integration testing, unit testing, and performance testing.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities, with the capacity to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Adaptable, eager to learn, and create, with a proactive attitude towards continuous improvement.
Preferred Skills/ Abilities:
- ISTQB or other relevant testing certifications are a plus.
- Familiarity with version control, GitLab, and CI/CD processes.
- Have experience working on command-and-control systems
Education and Experience:
- 6+ years of proven professional experience.
- 4+ years of proven professional experience with bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field.
- Other combinations of education, training and/or experience may be considered.
Physical Requirements: Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
Travel Requirements: Travel required up to 25%
Other Requirements: It is an essential requirement for the person in this role to be a US Person and be eligible to obtain any required Export Authorization and DoD Clearance.

Physical Demands

Salary depends on relevant work experience, education, training, essential skills, and/or other factors such as specialized or high-demand professions. In addition to the annual salary, the position will be eligible for an annual bonus. The pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of salary or annual bonus.
