Banquet Housepeople are the backbone of the team, taking care of the floorplan set-up, stocking the space with supplies, and assist with the flow of the event by supporting the team. We are looking for individuals who possess a high level of attention to detail and good communication skills. By the nature of this position, a houseperson must have a high level of physical mobility so ideal candidates are hardworking, can work independently, and like to keep moving.
The position supports the banquet team in set up and break down of the event space and is a key player in the smooth operation of all private parties and events. This position works closely with the other banquet team members, and reports to the Director of Catering and Director of Banquets. It is best suited to someone comfortable lifting and moving tables, chairs, boxes, etc. and brings positivity to the team.
Essential Functions:

Maintains a neat and professional appearance in accordance with The Lake House standards.

Projects a positive attitude towards guests and staff.

Sets up and breaks down all event space according to Banquet Events Order (BEO) as well as maintains cleanliness standards for equipment and meeting rooms.

Key attention to detail with properly setting meeting spaces according to management standards and floor plans.

Open rooms for use adjusting lights, sound volumes, and temperature as needed for each room before event.

Maintain high standards of safety and cleanliness in all areas of the hotel & conference center.

Cleanliness and organization of all banquet rooms, hallways, storage and service areas

Ensures proper storage and maintenance of all MDR & banquet service equipment including tables, chairs, silverware, hollowware, glassware and linen.

Routinely inventory and care for supplies such as linens, chairs, tables, glassware, dishes and decorations.

Reporting maintenance issues to management.

Assist event vendors when needed.

Assembly of dance floors, stages, podiums may be required.

Assumes special projects assigned by management

Other duties as assigned
