SUMMARY
The Purchasing Assistant is responsible for support to the Buyer. The Purchasing Assistant is the primary contact with suppliers after the PO has been created. Primary duties include expediting, accounts payable, and liaison between departments.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
1. Expedite all items from all vendors. Maintain accurate delivery information in computer system.
2. Prepare “hot list” for low stock and critical items, forward to suppliers.
3. Process invoices for vendors by entering into the computer and verifying their accuracy, work with Buyer to resolve any invoicing issues.
4. Prepare backorder reports daily.
5. Meet with Project Coordinator to assure that project orders are delivered to customer as promised.
6. Process all receiving discrepancies and resolve with supplier.
7. Coordinate with Sales to assure overall customer satisfaction to enhance overall growth of company to improve sales and profitability of company.
8. Update computer system with current information to maintain system integrity.
9. Regular and dependable attendance.
NON-ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Non-essential duties and responsibilitiesinclude the following. Other duties may be assigned.
1. Fill in for Buyer when absent from office.
2. Perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Two-year associate’s degree in Purchasing/Inventory Control/Expediting, or related field desired. A minimum of six months of relevant, job related experience required. Must have ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with employees and vendors. Effective verbal and written communication skills required. Must have strong organizational skills and a good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.

Pay: $18.00 - $19.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 42 per week
