Job Summary:
Landirr, Inc. is a leading golf course construction company with over 39 years in business. We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as an Assistant Controller. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the success of our projects and play a key role in our company's operations.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the CFO in overseeing and managing all aspects of the company's financial accounting, reporting, and control functions.
- Prepare and review financial statements, ensuring accuracy, compliance with GAAP, and adherence to company policies.
- Coordinate and participate in the month-end and year-end close processes.
- Perform variance analysis and provide insights into financial performance to aid in decision-making.
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts and subsidiary ledgers.
- Monitor and improve internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with financial regulations.
- Collaborate with external auditors during the annual audit process and address any audit-related matters.
- Assist in the preparation of tax-related documents and compliance with tax regulations.
- Participate in special projects as assigned.
- Perform extensive data entry to ensure all financial data is input into accounting software.
- Assist with processing invoices, checks, and payroll.
- Assure the financial transactions and reporting of accounts payable and receivables are completed accurately and timely.
- Assist in setting up and maintaining the project accounting files.
- Coordinate and prepare for audits such as financial, 401k, DOL, sales tax, workers compensation, etc.
Qualifications:
- Accounting: Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or finance roles.
- Construction Accounting: 3 years (Preferred)
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. (Preferred)
- A CPA or CMA certification is a strong plus.
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP and financial reporting standards.
- Proficiency in using accounting software systems (e.g., Power Tools).
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office 365, especially MS Excel for financial analysis and data management.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with great attention to detail.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to meet deadlines and prioritize tasks.
