Job Summary:
Assist patients by accepting and coordinating CPAP/BIPAP resupply orders, identifying patients' needs, clarifying information, arranging for patients to receive supplies on an ongoing basis, collecting financial obligations and providing solutions and/or alternatives.
Duties and Responsibilities:
a) Verification of current CMN, physician documentation (follow up progress notes), review of insurance benefits (if carrier information on file is active) and patient equipment usage is compliant prior to contacting patient.
b) Verifies insurance coverage(s) for patients with healthcare payers, either by telephone or Internet (both primary and secondary insurers). Re-verifies (using new insurance information) for patients whose last insurance verification was > 30 days previous.
c) Contact patient to verify demographic information on file (update any changes prior to shipping supplies), verification of mask make/model/size in use at the time of order, review of financial obligations if applicable regarding supplies at the time of order.
d) Ensures that no patient whose supplies require an authorization(s) is permitted to receive supplies unless and until an authorization(s) has been obtained
e) Performs various clerical duties related to core job responsibilities to include photocopying, scanning and faxing, as assigned by the job responsibilities.
f) Provides assistance to other personnel and other departments as needed.
g) Document and collect payment for resupply when needed.
h) Brightree experience is a plus
