Pastry Chef/Chocolatier
Cacao & Cardamom Chocolatier is currently growing and looking for passionate individuals who are in search of a unique and challenging professional opportunity in Houston. We are an energetic, artisan chocolate shop that handcrafts our own luxurious assortment of truffles, molded chocolates, dragees, mendiants, and bars.
We currently have full time opportunities available for Pastry Cooks and Chocolatiers to join our production team. This is a an opportunity to work with a company where you will be an integral part of developing and producing high end chocolate confections. An ideal Chocolatier candidate will have the desire to learn a new trade, and the ability to follow a recipe with a high level of accuracy and detail.
Specific Responsibilities include:
-Chocolate Making: Temper, Color, Mold and prepare chocolate products in accordance with the daily plan, including chocolate bon-bons, truffles, dragees, mendiants, and bars
-Quality Control: Responsible for meeting quality standards, follow all sanitation / health department regulations, alert the Master Chocolatier regarding any irregularities or concerns
-Be a Positive Influence: Bring positive energy to create a fun and dynamic team environment
Qualifications for Experienced Part-Time Chocolatier Assistant:
-Must adhere to Shop Rules/Regulations and be willing to do multiple tasks.
-Minimally must have strong desire to learn the profession. (Training provided)
-Ability to work 8 hour shift on feet. (Job also can entail repetitive wrist and hand movements)
-Honest, trustworthy, friendly, responsible and hard-working.
-Must respond to verbal and written instruction and change focus as warranted.
-Self-Starter and Team Player that is detail-oriented, committed, and takes pride in their work
-Can lift & move up to 20 lbs. and work 8 hours on their feet
-Determined commitment to learn every aspect of the business from the ground up
-And most importantly… have a REAL PASSION for CHOCOLATE!!!!

- Weekends as needed
