You’ll be in a key role in driving value-add digital finance projects, data analytics and process improvement initiatives. Utilizing your strong accounting and systems knowledge base, you will apply it to a wide variety of scenarios. You will also have the opportunity to provide guidance and leadership to others. You’ll work with stakeholders in Accounting, FP&A, and others throughout the business to drive process improvements through data science, in order to create an environment that delivers timely and accurate data. You will have the opportunity to implement improvements that will save time and provide greater insight into our financials.
Provide support for assigned data management key fields to the Accounting organization as well as all Verizon teams utilizing these values.
Providing value to revenue accounting through data mining, analytics, modeling, automation, and testing through big data.
Writing advanced SQL queries and supporting system coding.
Partnering with other departments to understand complex business challenges in regards to data limitations and provide recommendations.
Performing analysis and coordinating with partners to resolve any differences.
Providing an easy interpretation of data through the use of data modeling, analytics, and visualization techniques to identify existing trends and data insights that drive business value.
Building business cases and translating findings into practical business implications.

You’ll need to have:
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Management Information Systems, Information Technology, Data Science, or four or more years work experience.
Four or more years of relevant work experience.
Experience with financial systems, procedures, and verification.
Experience in the preparation of general ledger postings and account reconciliations.
Experience with SAP.
Experience in managing multiple projects.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
Experience in mining various data sources and/or providing visualization of complex data structures.
Even better if you have one or more of the following:
Master's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Management Information Systems, Information Technology, or Data Science.
CPA certification (or are in the process of getting certified)
Experience in data science / model design principles.
Experience in writing advanced SQL queries.
Experience in applying statistical ideas and methods to data sets to answer business problems.
Experience in continuous improvement initiatives and root cause analysis.
Knowledge of database concepts / programming (Teradata SQL, Python etc.).
Strong time management skills.
Ability to work independently.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
