Human Potential Consultants has an opening for a highly motivated Shipping/Receiving Clerk in Los Angeles to provide services in cooperation with the United States Attorney’s Office (USAO).
This position may also include travel to complete shipping/receiving work at branch offices in Santa Ana (Orange County) and Riverside (Riverside County). The successful candidate will work onsite and also report directly and responsively to Human Potential Consultants Management Team.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: A qualified Shipping/Receiving Clerk will:
- Maintain and update supply database/catalog (data entry) and supply room inventory;
- Stock and handle inventory control, preparation of order sheets/requests, order receipts, and maintain organization of the supply room area and space;
- Verify details and accuracy of shipping invoices;
- Regularly meet and communicate with multiple branch offices to perform assigned tasks;
- Checks voicemail or email messages promptly and takes appropriate action;
- Follow up with vendors and related tasks and responsibilities;
- Maintain order, management and other tasks related to files;
- Receive and handle shipments from loading dock;
- Escort contractors and others as approved through premises and as required;
- Deliver supplies and/or make pick-ups from multiple branch offices;
- Take appropriate and efficient initiative with little oversight on projects and tasks;
- Communicate clearly, effectively, and professionally both verbally and in writing, and within required timeframes;
- Develop creative solutions with rare judgment errors;
- Provide consistent and excellent customer service;
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Must be United States Citizen;
- Must have High School Diploma or equivalent;
- Must have a Valid driver’s license and verification of a proficient driving record;
- Must possess DOJ security clearance or have the ability TO PASS A BACKGROUND CHECK/SECURITY CLEARANCE OF THIS LEVEL;
- Must have experience working in a legal, social service or related environment;
- Must have ability to lift a minimum of 50lbs;
- Forklift certified, preferred;
- OSHA Trained/Or other relevant safety training;
- Competent with various computer software programs (MS Word, Excel, Email, etc.);
- Demonstrate ability to communicate clearly, effectively, and professionally both verbally and in writing, and with multiple individuals, departments and customers;
- Demonstrate ability to effectively problem solve, with the ability to evaluate contradictory information and make necessary and appropriate changes;
- Demonstrate the ability to maintain performance standards, and completion of all tasks within required time frames and established governmental guidelines;
- Ability to consistently follow safety and security procedures related to official government offices;
- Ability to acquire and use new skills as the job requires (e.g. processing outgoing/incoming mail);
- Ability to completed travel between branch offices in Orange and Riverside Counties; including the ability to travel of limited trainings out of state

Pay: $20.88 per hour
