We are in search of a visionary and strategic Director of Warehouse Operations to spearhead our operations at our state-of-the-art facility in Dublin, Ohio. The ideal candidate will possess a hands-on leadership style and a demonstrable track record in warehouse management, distribution, and logistics. Moreover, experience in implementing and optimizing Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), with familiarity in Korber WMS and SAP Business One (SAP B1), will be a significant advantage. Additionally, you will directly manage a Warehouse Manager, and indirectly oversee a team of up to 60, combination of full-time employees and temporary employees. MSI services two businesses from our warehouse; Junior Library Guild & AKJ Education. This is a 100% onsite position.
Responsibilities:
- Strategic Leadership: Provide visionary and strategic leadership to the warehouse team, aligning operations with organizational goals, and driving continuous improvement.
- WMS Implementation and Optimization: Lead the ongoing optimization of Warehouse Management Systems, with a focus on maximizing efficiency and accuracy.
- Process Excellence: Identify strategic opportunities for process optimization, cost reduction, and efficiency improvements. Implement best practices and innovative solutions.
- Talent Development: Recruit, mentor, and develop a high-performing team. Foster a culture of skill development and continuous improvement.
- Inventory Strategy: Develop and execute strategic inventory management strategies to ensure optimal stock levels, minimize carrying costs, and enhance customer service.
- Technology Advancement: Leverage experience with Korber WMS and SAP Business One (SAP B1) to enhance warehouse operations and drive technological advancements.
- Budget Management: Develop and manage the warehouse budget, focusing on cost-effective operations while delivering high-quality service.
- Customer-Centric Focus: Collaborate with internal stakeholders to meet customer needs and maintain high service levels, aligning operations with customer expectations.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of strategic warehouse management experience, with a track record of success in a leadership role.
- Strong understanding of warehouse operations, distribution, and inventory management.
- Proven experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS); experience with Korber WMS is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with SAP Business One (SAP B1) is a significant advantage.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage, train and efficiently operations multiple warehouse lines (picking, packing, processing)
- Ability to lead and motivate a diverse team.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and compliance.
- Experience in an educational or publishing environment is a plus.
- Bi-lingual ability is a plus.
