SpecPro Professional Services (SPS) is seeking an individual experienced in providing game species management and natural resource compliance. This individual will assist in development of management plans, field data collection, and data analysis associated with game species management in accordance with Integrated Natural Resources Management Plan, Department of Defense, and Army policy and guidance.
Responsibilities include:
- Implement management plans for game species such as quail, turkey, deer, and waterfowl.
- Plan, coordinate, and plant wildlife food plots.
- Assist in prescribed fire operations.
- Monitor and maintain Wood Duck boxes.
- Assist with Wood Duck and Mourning Dove banding.
- Develop weekly and monthly harvest reports using the iSportsman system.
- Implement open lands management utilizing manual, mechanical, and herbicide methods.
- Support feral hog surveys, bait stations, and trapping sites.
- Operate deer and turkey check stations (few weekends a year).
- Input survey data in GIS/Arc Pro.
- Temporary alternate work schedule may be required.
Education/experience:
- Degree in wildlife biology or closely related field preferred.
- Heavy equipment experience is not required but preferred.
- Familiarity with Arc Pro software.
- Verbal and written communication skills.
- Prefer someone with experience in pesticide application, and/or willing to obtain an applicator license.
