This position is at our Alco Spring location and has been manufacturing quality hot wound coiled steel springs for rail and other industrial customers worldwide since 1908. Our springs range in size from less than a pound to more than 2,000 pounds and provide stability and precision for customers in the energy, mining, automotive, heavy equipment, and other markets. Our engineers can custom-design special springs that enable customers to expand the capabilities of their equipment.
Duties/Responsibilities:
· Inspect, repair, install, adjust, and maintain mechanical equipment throughout plant to promote safe and efficient operations.
· Inspect equipment for defects, misalignment, wear deformity, insufficient lubrication, defective and broken parts etc.
· Determines the best way of performing repairs to minimize interruption of production.
· Dismantles, cleans, inspects, replaces, installs, maintains, assembles, and lubricates mechanical equipment making temporary or permanent repair.
· Adjust equipment per maintenance schedule for proper operating characteristics.
· Assembles and aligns gears, bearing and shafts involving the application of press, sliding, and running fits.
· Operates machine tools such as drill press, lathe, surface grinders, pipe threaders, etc.
· Use acetylene torch to layout and burn material to size.
· Arc welding.
· Layout, installs, maintains, and repairs all types of pipelines, fitting, fixtures, windows, rough carpentry work fabricating, etc.
· Performs minor electrical repairs as needed.
Skills/Experience Requirements:
· 3+ years of experience working on industrial machinery, including troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining equipment.
· Demonstrated experience with mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems in an industrial setting.
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to diagnose issues quickly and effectively.
· Effective verbal and written communication skills to interact with team members, supervisors, and vendors.
· Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment, collaborating with other technicians and departments.
· Keen attention to detail to ensure high standards of quality and safety.
Open Schedule:
· 1st shift: Monday – Friday.
Pay: $26 - $28 per hour
