Main Job Function:
PREFERENCE FOR WOMANS HEALTH EXPERIENCE or PRIOR FERTILITY EXPERIENCE
The IVF RN has the responsibility of providing high quality medical care and appropriate medical judgment during all interactions with patients and other healthcare providers. They have direct interaction with patients, laboratory staff, front office staff, embryologist, and the physician(s). Have the ability to communicate accurately to patient and staff, while maintaining a professional demeanor during all interactions.
Additional duties include, but are not limited to, communicating information to the patients and / or others whom the medical director designates. Maintaining the patient's identity is critical and HIPPA guidelines need to be strictly adhered to. May perform other duties which are not mentioned below. Specific functions are subject to change.
Major Responsibilities:
· Sonograms
· Supplement PACU Nurse
· All assigned PACU responsibilities
· Documenting medical clearances
· Coordination of cycles
· Initiate checklist and speaks with patient about checklist at consents signing
· Order necessary checklist items in eIVF and LabCorp/Quest
· Adding patients to the cycle review meeting checklist
· Trigger patients, schedule IUI, and blood tests
· Answering patient phone calls
· Triaging phone calls
· Cross covering for other Nurse Coordinator during vacations as deemed by Team Lead
· Weekend rotation clinical coverage rotation
· Phlebotomy/ Ultrasound coverage (Monitoring)
· Assisting in OR & Recovery room
· Patient Recovery after oocyte retrieval
· MA duties when MA is not available
Minor Responsibilities:
· Weekend rotation for the ART Program patients if needed
· Assist in answer general clinical questions not pertaining to IVF, PGD, FET, or Third Party Reproduction.
QUALIFICATIONS
· EDUCATION AND FORMAL TRAINING:
Current State Certification as licensed RN.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
· Ability to operate equipment, computers / etc., both at sitting levels and/or
standing levels.
· Flexibility and adaptability to work additional hours or shifts if needed.
· Effective communication skills---listening, writing, talking, reading, via telephone and computer.
· Ability to work efficiently and accurately.
· Ability to organize and plan work.
· Work effectively under stress.
SPECIAL CONDITIONS:
· Visual acuity and above average manual dexterity.
· Capable of a moderate amount of walking, standing and/or sitting.
· Ability to give and receive instructions under operating room conditions including
wearing a surgical mask.
· Subject to viral and bacterial infection exposure, exposure to blood borne pathogens.
· Occasional exposure to toxic substances
