Statements of Purpose
Under the supervision of the Executive Clinical Director the Therapist is responsible for completing the Biopsychosocial assessment, developing treatment plans, conducting process groups and individual sessions with facility clients.
Major Task, Duties and Responsibilities
● Oversee the daily treatment experience of each of his/her clients.
● Maintain assigned documentation as required within the timelines required.
● Conduct assessments of clients at the time of admission and re-assessments as required and if needed.
● Conduct mental status examinations.
● Provide appropriate treatment recommendations based on a review of the client’s history, signs, and symptoms.
● Provide individual, couple/family, and group psychotherapy as needed.
● Ability to demonstrate respect for cultural and lifestyle diversities of clients and staff.
● Crisis intervention services, including 5150 determinations.
● Treatment Planning.
● Knowledge of current legal standards pertaining to professional practice, reporting
requirements, professional boundaries, and related issues.
● Knowledge of the philosophy and approach of the 12-step model of recovery (AA, CA, NA,
Alanon).
Charting Requirements
● Initial Treatment Plan must be complete and signed within the timelines required. Treatment
Plan Updates must be completed upon level changes.
● Biopsychosocial must be complete and signed within the timelines required.
● Clients must receive at least one individual session with primary therapist each week. Notes must be logged within 24 hours, including notes that state if and why client was not seen, etc.
● If clinician leads groups, notes must be logged within 24 hours.
● Referents
o Must contact referent within 48 hours of being assigned the client. Call must be
documented in client chart under the PHI tab.
o Must contact referent minimum of once per week via phone to keep family and/or referent updated. Call must be documented.
Minimum Qualifications
Following are the qualifications required to perform the essential functions of this position.
Specific qualifications may vary based on assignment.
_____ Must be at least 18 years of age
_____ Master or Doctorate degree in psychology, social work, counseling or social science. Licensed or registered as an LMFT, LCSW, LCDC, or LPC; or by the Board of Psychology as a Licensed Psychologist or Psychological Assistant.
_____ Minimum of two years’ experience in evaluating and/or treating persons suffering from mental illness and/or substance abuse. Prior supervisory experience preferred.
_____ Class “C” Driver’s License (if driving for company), otherwise, will need Photo ID.
_____ CPR/First Aid certification required, obtain upon employment and maintain current thereafter.
_____ Able to make commute
_____ Criminal Background and pre-employment drug screen clearance required
_____ Health Screen required
_____ Negative TB Test Results required
_____ Develop computer skills adequate to perform word processing duties upon employment.
Vision, hearing, manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination must be adequate for performance of job duties. Able to sit at a desk, use keyboard, write and physically perform other job duties. Able to move about the facility to observe clients and staff.
