Whirlpool is seeking qualified candidates for the role of a Senior Buyer, Procurement to join our Motors & Pumps Global Strategic Sourcing organization. The role will be located at our Riverview Campus in Benton Harbor, MI.
Today, you might be working on a supply agreement.
Tomorrow, you'll be creating a commodity strategy for the globe, and aligning with counterparts in other regions, process partners and senior leaders. You will also be communicating strategies and meeting with senior leaders in sourcing council on strategy, sourcing awards, and/or supplier exit strategies.
Your responsibilities will include
- Develop and manage the business relationship between Whirlpool and its Suppliers of assigned commodity(ies), within our Global Strategic Sourcing organization (contract negotiations, supplier issue resolution, supplier cost reductions, purchase order creation and management)
- Identify, negotiate and recommend sourcing of new components, materials, parts or assemblies as well as manage price and contract terms and conditions over their lifecycle.
- Evaluate suppliers on cost, quality, delivery, and other information to determine viability of suppliers and long term supplier strategy
- Forecast material performance on a monthly basis for controlled spend and identify, develop and execute projects that optimize total cost of ownership for your assigned commodity(ies)
- Lead / support various process partner needs (like Engineering & Technology, Product Development, Marketing, etc.) within assigned commodity(ies)
- Drive extraordinary results in meeting critical revenue, cost, quality, delivery, and service objectives
- Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction are accomplished in all work streams
Minimum requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree
- 3+ years’ of experience in procurement, supply chain or business
Preferred skills and experiences
- Bachelor’s Degree in Procurement, Supply Chain, Engineering
- Financial Management and forecasting
- Demonstrate practical use of supplier management and sourcing principles
- Negotiation, conflict resolution and management skills
- Build strong rapport and relationships with internal process partners and suppliers
- Analytical and related computer skills
- Manage and prioritize multiple activities
- Driven individual with a vision and work ethic required for future growth
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $88,000.00 - $100,400.00 per year
Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
