Job description:
Our ideal candidate as a Formulating Chemist at OBI will be responsible for formulating, testing and developing cosmetic products that meet both regulatory standards and market demands. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in chemistry, a passion for beauty and skincare and the ability to create high-quality cosmetic formulations. Candidate must be a team player, have excellent problem-solving skills, the ability to interpret experimental results, be neat, organized and extremely detail oriented.
Responsibilities Include:
*Design and develop cosmetic formulations while being current with industry trends and emerging ingredients, conducting research to identify innovative and effective components for cosmetic products.
*Ensure all formulations comply with relevant regulations and industry standards.
*Conduct thorough testing of prototypes and finished products to ensure efficacy, stability, and safety.
*Be able to work with marketing, manufacturing, and quality control.
*Troubleshoot and resolve any issues related to product formulation, stability, or performance, ensuring timely resolution of challenges.
*Maintain detailed records of formulations, experiments, and testing results. Prepare and update product specifications, and technical documentation.
*Continue to stay current on innovation in product formulations.
Skills Required:
- Ability to follow instructions
- Ability to record and document critical batch process documents
- Attention to accuracy and detail
- Familiar with measurement scales, mixing, blending, chemical mills and other formulation manufacturing equipment
- Follow established formulas to create laboratory batches of personal care and color cosmetics.
- Be able to scale up, assist in production troubleshooting.
- Ability to identify, fine tune and troubleshoot problems with formulations.
- Observe, record, investigate, duplicate and validate successful procedures.
- Perform calculations and assessments to convert laboratory scale formula's to large scale for manufacturing
- Prepare and approve Master Batch Record.
- Prepare and maintain accurate technical data and required documentation.

Pay: $38,000.00 - $45,000.00 per year
