Monday-Friday: 8:30am-5:30pm
Pumpkin Preschool Early Learning Centers has been serving Fairfield County families for over 35 years. We have centers in Fairfield, Westport & Shelton. Pumpkin Preschool knows that the love of learning comes from a great beginning. Through gentle teacher guidance children develop social emotional intelligence, critical thinking, and communication skills. Our specialized preschool curriculum ensures that children learn to collaborate, and problem solve as they move towards school-readiness and independence. Our well-rounded curriculum supports children as they build self-confidence with each new accomplishment guaranteeing their success.
At our centers, teachers work together in teams and are responsible for monitoring and assessing the education and social development of each child. Teams develop lesson plans and provide support within the classroom for management and optimal learning.
Qualified candidate must be able to:
- Interact with infants and toddlers to gauge their individual personalities and abilities.
- Ensure that infants’ physical and social needs are fulfilled.
- Respond to each child’s physical and social needs in a proactive manner.
- Make sure that each child enrolled in a program is being instructed with respect to the curriculum.
- Make sure that each child’s hygiene needs are met promptly.
- Encourage infants to use and develop their muscles by engaging them in educational play.
- Design and implement lesson plans.
- Sooth distressed children by employing calming methods such as physical contact or verbal communication or an amalgamation of both.
- Attempt to stimulate developmental growth by encouraging children to participate in creative play.
- Tweak each lesson plan coordinated with different learning styles of individual children.
- Ensure the safety of each child during their time at the facility.
- Communicate well with parents as they are our partners in providing the best overall experience for the child.
Requirements: Experience working with children, dependable, punctual, enthusiastic about learning and a passion for education, physically able to lift 30lbs on a regular basis (some occasions up to 50lbs), reliable transportation necessary.
Preferred: A.S. in Early Childhood Education, Pursuing a degree in ECE, CDA, CPR Certification.
Salary: Commensurate with experience.
