Systems Engineer – MS365 / SharePoint / Exchange
Expert Technical Solutions is seeking a Systems Engineer – MS365/ SharePoint / Exchange for one of our premier, industry leading clients in Duluth, GA. This person is responsible for designing and developing solutions to complex system administration issues, network concerns, and systems management and integrations functions related to our client’s MS365 and Exchange systems environment.
This role will report to the Manager, Systems Engineering
This is a permanent, HYBRID (3 days onsite) opportunity offering excellent pay, benefits, and growth potential.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
· Responsible for the administration and maintenance of MS365 services.
· Plan and coordinate updates, outages, maintenance windows, and any other activities that could impact the availability of services
· Serve as the Subject Matter Expert to advise and guide team members on how to successfully navigate to the new environment with the least amount of disruption and impact to the customer.
· Responsible for migrating to newer versions of Microsoft Exchange on-premises as well as migrating customer to O365 or MS365. This may also involve MS365 mailbox migrations to on premise Exchange and on premise Exchange mailbox migrations to MS365.
· Understanding and administration of Exchange and MS365 hybrid deployments.
· Performs detailed discovery analysis of environments using Active Directory and Azure AD, Azure AD Connect, Active Directory Federation Services using SAML, Microsoft Exchange, MS365, Mobile Device Management and Mail Flow through SMTP Edge/Gateways
· Implementation of Office 365 MFA.
· Performs configuration, debugging and support for multiple infrastructure platforms on moderately complex projects.
· Monitors system and network availability and performs root cause analysis for service interruption recovery; create preventative measures.
· Develop logical and physical designs of new environments, and provide maintenance and issue resolution as needed.
· Applies database software patches and application version upgrades.
· Participates in application and database performance tuning.
· Collects and analyzes system statistics and provides recommendations as needed.
· Provides Client Business Continuity/Disaster Recovery assistance.
· Must participate in on-call service schedule and respond to customer technical problems as required.
· May travel to customer sites to provide additional support and troubleshooting.
Requirements/Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in information systems, computer science, computer engineering or equivalent job experience.
- 5+ years of experience in an MS365 Engineering role or equivalent Microsoft cloud services experience
- 3+ years of demonstrated SharePoint experience – migration and design experience required
- Previous experience in conversions from other mail stores and management of very large multitenant enterprise is a must.
- Must possess a minimum of 3 years of experience in at least 1 of the following subject areas: Microsoft Windows Active Directory 2012 – 2022, Microsoft Terminal Services, Server Hardware and Architecture (RAID sets, Disk Arrays, Memory, Processor configurations)
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in at least 1 of the following subject areas:
- Citrix XenServer/XenApp/NetScaler, Exchange 2013 – 2019, Microsoft Office 365, Azure, VMWare ESX 6.0 - 8.0, Microsoft SQL Server 2012-2022, Backup topologies to include Rubrik EMC IDPA, and EMC Data Domain, SAN topology to include EMC, NexSan, Synology and Brocade switch fabric.
- Previous experience managing server hardware and platforms, troubleshooting hardware and software issues as needed.
- Strong knowledge working knowledge of operating systems and platforms including networks, programming techniques, and database technologies.
- Advanced experience in Windows Server 2008/2012 R1/R2, 2012/2016/2019 system administration including system maintenance, workstation support, Internet connectivity, security, and back-up procedures.
- Skilled at analyzing complex functions, procedures, and problems to find creative, logical, solutions.
- Experience in system maintenance, workstation support, Internet connectivity, and security services.
- Exceptional customer service skills with expertise in troubleshooting, diagnosing and solving complex computer related problems
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $82,000.00 - $92,000.00 per year
