The Joint, Office of the Secretary of Defense, Interagency Division provides expert support services to a range of customers spanning across the Department of Defense, Federal Civilian, and international markets. JOID provides a diverse portfolio of analytical and programmatic capabilities to help our customers make informed decisions on their most challenging issues.
The Industry and Security Analysis Group (ISAG) within JOID provides analytical, technical, and program support to promote, grow, and protect the U.S. industrial base. ISAG’s support spans the Department of Defense (DOD), Department of Commerce, and other agencies to deliver critical decision support to national security leaders. Our team informs policy decisions, enables execution of comprehensive strategies and monitors and reports on the effectiveness of implementation. This enables senior leaders to execute strategies for developing and sustaining a robust industrial base that meets our nation’s strategic resource objectives. We have a near-term need for a Counter-Weapons of Mass Destruction (CWMD) Staff Officer to provide onsite support at the Pentagon in Arlington, VA.
Responsibilities:
The Counter-Weapons of Mass Destruction (CWMD) Staff Officer will support Counter Proliferation and Weapons of Mass Destruction (CP-WMD) Directorate in their mission to provide oversight, governance, and integration of strategic defense intelligence initiatives to counter the proliferation of WMD, as well as the associated delivery systems and related technologies.The candidate will apply technical knowledge and provide analysis while preparing briefing and staff packages on state-of-the-art counter-proliferation of WMD and WMD delivery systems to include chemical, biological, and nuclear weapons. The candidate will assist developing processes and frameworks with DoD, interagency, and Intelligence Community (IC) for applying appropriate Title authorities for their use. The candidate will represent the CP-WMD Directorate at various working-level meetings and conferences and evaluate, assess, and develop studies on commercial technologies involved in research and development and build actionable recommendations for senior leadership. Will develop, coordinate, and route staffing packages for time-sensitive requirements and technical mission integration efforts within DoD and across the IC for senior leadership approval.
