Job Summary: MUST HAVE MANAGEMENT EXPERIENCE IN FOOD.
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Cafe Assistant MANAGER to join our team in a dynamic and fast-paced hospitality environment. As a Cafe Assistant, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our cafe, providing exceptional customer service, and maintaining high standards of food safety and quality.
Duties:
- Prepare and serve a variety of food and beverages, including specialty coffee drinks.
- Manage the cafe's inventory, including ordering and receiving supplies.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to food safety guidelines.
- Assist with shift management, including opening and closing procedures.
- Provide exceptional customer service, ensuring that every guest feels welcome and valued.
- Interview and train new team members as needed.
- Maintain a positive and professional attitude, contributing to a positive and inclusive work environment.
- Assist with special events and functions as required.
- Collaborate with other cafe staff to ensure seamless service.
- Participate in ongoing hospitality and food service management training to enhance skills and knowledge.
Requirements:
- Experience in food service, preferably in a cafe or restaurant setting.
- Knowledge of food safety practices and regulations.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Certification in food handling or hospitality management is an asset.
- Previous experience with shift management and interviewing is an asset.
- Familiarity with coffee preparation and hospitality management is an asset.
Skills:
- Food handling and preparation. MUST HAVE FOOD SAFETY MANAGER CERTI. & SERVSAFE
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Ability to manage shifts effectively.
- Experience in food service management.
- Knowledge of coffee preparation and coffee industry standards.
- Experience as a cook or in a similar role.
- Interviewing and training new team members.
- Strong hospitality management skills.
- Experience in a hotel or similar setting is an asset.
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $23.00 per hour
