Under general supervision, performs a variety of task pertaining to the maintenance of university owned vehicles.

Operates tire machines, inspects tires and equipment; repairs tires of all sizes including split rims.

Checks fluid levels, changes oil and filters, greases unit, checks for leaks, and lubricates differentials.

Washes and cleans interior and exterior of vehicles and applies fabric and vinyl protectant when required.

Assists mechanic in the more routine engine repairs, as needed.

Maintains the auto shop in a clean and safe condition.

As needed, picks up parts at local auto part shop; renders road service to UH vehicles on and off campus as required.

May serve on special task force during periods of emergency, such as floods, hurricanes, etc.

Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Nine years of school and No experience
Requires ability to read, write, add, subtract and follow oral and/or basic written instructions as might normally be acquired through 9 to 11 years of formal schooling. No experience is required. Requires a valid Texas Driver's License.
