An exciting opportunity for a Senior Analyst to join the Program Finance team at the world’s premier provider of undersea warfare systems, products and solutions. The Program Financial Analyst will sit on-site at their facility in Columbia City, IN and have the primary responsibility of ensuring that the EACs (Estimates at Completion) for various programs are accurate and complete so that the business is as predictable as possible and that there confidence in the forecast for Orders, Revenue, and Gross Margin.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
- Degree in Accounting or Finance; professional accountancy qualification an advantage.
- Experience with GAAP, IFRS accounting standards.
- Ability to present complex financial information in a clear and precise manner
- Problem-solving skills are crucial to analyzing past and current performance and recommending actions to improve productivity and profitability
- Strong analytical skills
- Highly competent in use of Microsoft Office products (Excel, Powerpoint, etc.); Power BI, Power Query, SQL, and other data manipulation/visualization skills are a plus
- Demonstrable high degree of computer literacy including familiarity with accounting and/or ERP system, Epicor highly preferred
- A sound understanding of program cost accounting / project accounting
- Ability to lead through influence and to motivate others around the business
Responsibilities:
- Drive and improve Weekly, Monthly, Quarterly and Annual business processes
- Weekly: Attend program status meetings and provide critical time-charging reports to leadership; ensure timely billings to customers; maintain supplier data; review and approve material requests; control program charge-numbers and monitor proper usage thereof
- Monthly: Assist in month-end close activities to ensure proper Revenue and accurate Costs of Sales for all programs; provide timely and accurate reports on program-level actual costs; provide commentary on variances to forecast; work with program managers to update forecast based on actuals and programmatic insights; attend Program Management Reviews to drive and inform program EACs
- Quarterly: Incorporate prior Program Management Review insights into official Quarterly Updates to program EACs; provide key insights and information for Major EAC programs; ensure proper and accurate application of labor and overhead rates to ensure accurate costs estimates; develop program-level forecasts for Orders, Sales, and Gross Margin; support and attend CFO-level CSRs (Contract Status Reviews) and QFRs (Quarterly Finance Reviews)
- Annual: Support the annual Strategic Business Review – the pinnacle event of Ultra Maritime business execution – which provides a rolling 5-year view of the future of the business; leverage SBR insights to support the annual budget process
