Who we are:
We are a growing private outpatient mental health practice that has helped change the lives of over 10,000 families in South Carolina. We provide a variety of services for children, adolescents, and adults ranging from individual and family psychotherapy, individualized treatment planning, emotional and behavioral support, medication management, and crisis intervention.
Summary of Position:
We are looking for a superhero who will be the ambassador of our practice for our clients, referring doctors, and our community. As a Front Desk Receptionist, you are the first point of contact with clients and will be responsible for the first impression we make. Our front desk staff supports our clients, parents/legal guardians, counselors, and administrative team with various clerical tasks. Our ideal candidate must be well-organized, dependable, punctual, work well with others and independently, flexible to work in other departments that may need assistance, and with the ability to work in a high-traffic front-office environment.
The position is full-time from Monday-Thursday.

Job Duties:
- Warmly greet patients during check-in
- Update and verify patient demographic information upon check-in
- Ensure intake paperwork is completed and obtain any additional documents when needed
- Notify counselors upon patient arrival
- Check patient's insurance eligibility and collect patient payments while following company's policies
- Handle all phone correspondence, including answering incoming calls in a timely manner, responding to inquiries, routing calls to the proper person/department, or taking detailed messages
- Schedule patient follow-up appointments/reschedule appointments
- Prepare and file patient charts for the counselors
- Document all patient communication in the EMR platform in a timely manner
- Protect patients’ rights by maintaining the confidentiality of medical, personal, and financial information
- Check voicemails and incoming faxes periodically throughout the day
- Maintain the appearance and upkeep of the lobby, front desk, and bathroom
- Perform other duties or special projects as assigned
Requirements:
- A High School diploma or equivalent (required)
- At least one year of experience in a medical office setting (psychiatry/mental health practice is preferred, but not required)
- Previous experience with Medicaid insurance and billing (preferred, not required)
- Ability to multitask and a willingness to learn
- Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
- Excellent computer skills. Must be computer literate with knowledge of Microsoft Office and EMR platforms (electronic medical record)
- Must work well under pressure and have excellent problem-solving skills
- Comes to work as scheduled and consistently demonstrates dependability and punctuality
- Must pass a background check
