Systems Engineer - Radio Telemetry & Robotics Integration (Austin, TX)

We are a leading international explosives company seeking a talented Systems Engineer to join our team in Austin, TX. In this role, you will play a pivotal role in developing a robust radio telemetry-based data layer system. This critical system will be the backbone of our communication network, ensuring seamless integration between our:
Robotics Systems
Electronic Detonators
Explosives Trucks
Data Collection Sensors
Bigdata databases
AI based backend.
What You'll Do:
Design, develop, and implement a radio telemetry data layer system for a harsh mining environment.
Collaborate with engineers and scientists to integrate the data layer with existing and future robotics systems, electronic detonators, explosives trucks, and data collection sensors
Ensure standardised, reliable, and secure communication across all connected systems
Perform system testing and troubleshooting to optimize functionality and performance.
Stay up to date on the latest advancements in radio telemetry and data communication technologies
Document system design, implementation, and testing procedures.
You Are a Perfect Fit If You Have:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field
Minimum 3 years of experience in designing and implementing communication or data systems.
Strong understanding of radio telemetry principles and protocols
Mapping and coordination systems
Experience with embedded systems and low-power design is a plus.
Proficiency in programming languages relevant to embedded systems (e.g., C++, Python)
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Strong communication, collaboration, and documentation skills
The ability to work independently and as part of an international team
Multilingual (Spanish or Portuguese) is a significant advantage.
