Job Description: Preschool Teacher or Caregiver*

In this role, you’ll play a critical part in nurturing young minds, fostering growth, and supporting their development.

Responsibilities:*
- Create a Safe Environment:
Maintain a safe and engaging learning environment for children.
- Supervise Activities: Monitor children’s play and interactions, ensuring safety and appropriate behavior.
- Hygiene and Care: Attend to children’s hygiene needs, including diapering & toileting and teaching them the importance of handwashing.
- Meals & Nutrition: Help serve meals and snacks. Join children at the table to model manners and converse as you enjoy the meal together.
- Curriculum Implementation: Implement age-appropriate activities and educational programs from our curriculum.
- Record Keeping: Maintain records of each child’s progress, interests, and any issues.
- Parent Communication: Keep parents informed about their child’s experiences.

QUALIFICATIONS*
For Preschool Teachers:
- A combination of experience and education/training is required. Teacher-qualified applicants may have:
- CDA (Child Development Associate) or a Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood, Child Development, or a related field.
- Completed college coursework or training in early childhood development.
- 6-12 months of experience in a licensed childcare program.
For Caregivers (Infant/Toddler Teachers):
- A combination of experience and training is required. Caregiver applicants may have:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 12 College Credits in Early Childhood OR 30 hours of Infant/Toddler Development Training.
- 12-24 months of experience in a licensed childcare program with children under 36 months.
If you don’t quite meet these requirements, don’t fret! Kama’aina Kids can help you qualify for a Teacher or Caregiver role if you’re interested and committed to personal growth. We offer Infant/Toddler Development Training and assistance in obtaining your CDA (Child Development Associate)at no cost to you!
