Lumin Health is seeking a motivated, compassionate, and client-centered individual to join our team as a Social Worker. Lumin Health is a ketamine and esketamine clinic focused on a high quality medical care with a strong mind toward the softness of psychedelically-informed practice.
In this role, you will play a vital part in caring for and monitoring individuals undergoing ketamine and esketamine treatments at our Harvard Square location. We are seeking someone to enhance clients' experiences before, during, and after treatment; recognizing safety concerns when they come up; ensuring that patients receiving care at Lumin have the highest quality experience; outreach to medical providers; and psychotherapeutic engagement. Working closely with Nurse Practitioners and Psychiatrists, you will contribute to providing best-in-class care for multiple clients each day on the cutting edge of psychiatric practice.
This is a full-time, salaried role for approximately 30-40 hours per week. As the clinic expands its hours and days of operation, there may be opportunities to adjust the schedule.
Responsibilities:
- Be a primary point of contact for clients, representing Lumin Health's approach to care and ensuring client comfort and advocacy throughout his/her/their time at Lumin
- Seat clients and conduct a preliminary check-in regarding well-being and risk issues, and assist clients in filling out any necessary forms or questionnaires prior to treatment.
- Observe and monitor clients (i.e,. blood pressure monitoring) undergoing treatments, including ketamine, esketamine
- Maintain awareness over clients' physical and emotional well-being
- Record and document medication data, vital signs, treatment progress, and other relevant information accurately and efficiently
- Assist in sending relevant forms to regulatory agencies involved in medication provision
- Collaborate with nurse practitioners and psychiatrists in managing crises
- Provide clients with educational materials and resources related to their treatment and recovery.
- Offer empathetic and compassionate support to clients, addressing their concerns and answering their questions to the best of your ability.
- Manage basic office tasks, including morning start-up, room setup, and end-of-day clean-up
- Provide feedback and contribute to Lumin Health's innovation in enhancing client care and treatment efficiency
- Provide brief psychotherapeutic engagements
- Provide integration psychotherapy (group and individual)
- Mild case management (eg, contacting outside providers, recommending alternative resources)
Qualifications:
Required:
- LICSW credentialing (mandatory)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (can be obtained as part of onboarding)
- Computer experience, including word processing and spreadsheets
- Familiarity with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems and proficiency in computer usage
- Knowledge of medical terminology, procedures, and practices
- Strong attention to detail and excellent observational skills
- Ability to maintain composure in high-pressure situations and respond quickly and appropriately
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with patients and work effectively within a team
