The College of Veterinary Medicine, Oklahoma State University (https://vetmed.okstate.edu/physiological-sciences/index.html) is seeking applications for a tenure track position in the Department of Physiological Sciences (Open-rank).
Candidates must have a minimum of a Ph.D. in a relevant field, with a DVM degree highly desirable but not required. Individuals with training in the disciplines of physiology, pharmacology, toxicology, immunology, or cancer biology are encouraged to apply. In keeping with departmental desire to integrate basic science instruction with clinical training, individuals with advanced clinical training are particularly encouraged to submit their application.
Responsibilities of the position will encompass the traditional responsibilities of a land grant university, including research, teaching of veterinary medical and graduate students, and service on departmental and college committees. The position will also encompass leadership of the INTERACT program and participation in the Universities One-Health Initiative. Appointment to a funded chair (Sitlington Chair) is possible for the appropriately qualified individual. The precise breakdown of the appointment will be determined in consultation with the candidate based upon their primary interests.
The Department of Physiological Sciences encompasses the disciplines of physiology, anatomical sciences, pharmacology, and toxicology. Departmental faculty members are funded by the NIH, including a COBRE College grant for respiratory infectious diseases (https://ocrid.okstate.edu/), the Department of Defense, USDA, American Heart Association, and other extramural agencies.
