Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Structured Cabling Technician with significant experience in commercial installations. The ideal candidate will possess expertise in installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting structured cabling systems, with a focus on delivering top-notch service and maintaining high-quality standards.
Responsibilities:
- Install, terminate, test, and label a variety of cabling types including copper and fiber optic cables in accordance with industry standards and project specifications.
- Execute cable pulls, routing, and dressing in both new and existing commercial environments.
- Collaborate with Lead technicians and Field Supervisors to ensure the successful completion of cabling projects within specified timelines.
- Perform site surveys and assess requirements for new installations or upgrades.
- Conduct testing and certification of installed cables to ensure adherence to performance standards and proper functionality.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to cabling systems efficiently and effectively.
- Maintain accurate documentation and records of all installations and configurations.
Requirements:
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in structured cabling installations in commercial settings.
- Proficiency in terminating, testing, and troubleshooting copper and fiber optic cabling systems.
- Thorough knowledge of industry standards such as ANSI, TIA, and BICSI.
- Familiarity with cabling tools, equipment, and testing devices.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or in a team environment.
- Relevant certifications such as BICSI, OSHA will be considered a plus.
