we are seeking an experienced Mechanical Assembler tech responsible for performing mechanical assembling of motion control systems.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Assemble, install, align, adjust and fit subassemblies and parts or auxiliary equipment using appropriate tools and equipment as per work instructions.
- Assemble, set-up, calibrate, test and troubleshoot components, instruments and mechanical assemblies
- Assist with routine repair and retest products. May assist with rework on assemblies and/or systems as a result of testing/engineering orders
- Perform low to moderately complex assembly and test. Products may include but are not limited to small products, light subassemblies, and/or complete units of a smaller size.
- Work closely with personnel to support R&D, assembly, solder, cabling+harness and test efforts.
- Perform tasks using a variety of verbal, written, drawing, diagram and assembly instructions.
- Organize/set-up work space as task-at-hand requires
- Read and understand mechanical & electrical drawings as well as detailed assembly instructions
- Follow work instructions associated with assembly skills to become certified for work being performed.
- Clean parts and maintain tooling and equipment per proper work instructions.
- Work with close tolerances and fits to meet engineering and operating requirements.
- Pick and stock parts from stock rooms and completed parts.
Job Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent education and/or combination of education and experience.
- Minimum two (2) years previous assembly/soldering experience in an aerospace/military environment
- Knowledge of and the ability to use a variety of basic hand tools
- The ability to read and use inspection tools that apply to specific job and facility.
- The ability to use computer and web-based systems to input, access, modify, or output information.
- The ability to write effectively, to read and understand work documents and to communicate information clearly to coworkers and supervisor.
- The ability and willingness to demonstrate eagerness, enthusiasm, and optimism for work activities. This includes the ability and willingness to take ownership for work activities, to learn and understand company policies and procedures.
- The ability to perform simple arithmetic computations including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division correctly using whole numbers, fractions, decimals, and percentages.
- The ability to see details (e.g., letters, numbers, codes, color, symbols, marks, labels, signs) clearly to accomplish work tasks in a safe and efficient manner and possessing strong hand-eye coordination.
- Must be US Citizen or Permanent Resident per ITAR definition
- IPC-A-610 certification (current or expired)
- J-STD certification (current or expired)
- Must have good oral and written communication skills
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form
- Familiarity with ESD practices a plus
- Experience with hand tools, including crimpers, drills, taps, and torque wrenches
