Role Description
The Sous Chef will assist the Executive Chef with the running and management of the kitchen. This candidate will be able to work well under pressure, execute a range of daily tasks; ensure the kitchen produces exemplary food while simultaneously fostering a healthy, happy work environment. Tight, focused, ingredient-drive menu pairing with an extensive natural wine list in a small but busy corner location in the West Village.
Schedule Requirement:
Full Time with presence during night service over the course of the week. Ideally present to lead the food portion of the lineup. Flexible on exact hours

Food Sales (Day & Night), Food COGS
Key Responsibilities
- Working collaboratively with our Executive Chef de Cuisine to execute dishes and assist menu development

Produce consistent, quality dishes in a fast-paced environment

Possess the ability to fill into any BOH hourly position.

Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and organization

Developing, teaching, and maintaining all recipes and techniques

Work well under pressure while also creating a welcoming work environment that increases staff morale

Ability to multitask, watch wastage, cooking temps and quality to reduce additional costs

Assist with inventory to support the kitchen operating at a sustainable food cost

Maintain a safe environment for all Team Members.
Desired Experience

Passionate, positive person excited to continue growth of an aspirational food program with a tight-knit, fun team. Interest in natural wines a plus.

Minimum of 3+ years related experience working in a similar role

Excellent knife skills, plating techniques, and attention to aesthetics and detail
