Experienced Manager needed for upscale Mexican restaurant in Jersey City.
- SHIFT MANAGEMENT - The space is a bi-level 5,500sf with a big bar, an open kitchen and 3 different dining rooms, so ideal candidate needs high stamina and be able to be constantly moving across all spaces. TOAST POS experience preferred.
- TEAM BUILDING - This is a new restaurant, so we need a manager that has a lot of experience hiring, training, motivating, coaching, disciplining staff and all that is needed to form and maintain a strong FOH team. Ideal candidate will be familiar with basic labor laws and have a strategy to handle staff requests and to handle and resolve staff disputes.
- SCHEDULING - Experience working with Hot schedules preferred.
- BAR - Ideal candidate will have experience mixing cocktails, knowledge about beer, wine, and spirits - especially tequilas. Experience changing kegs, doing liquor inventory, ordering liquor, and basic bar practices such as blind cash out, buybacks, comps, etc required. Candidate should should be able to have conversations with our guests at the bar, and also be able to monitor over drinking and handling difficult customers. Experience with inventory software preferred.
- FOOD - Basic knowledge of Mexican cuisine preferred. Ideal candidate will be able to taste the whole menu on a daily basis to ensure freshness, accuracy and presentation
- GUEST BASE DEVELOPMENT- Ideal candidate will be comfortable with all hospitality practices such as learning guests names, having notes on their preferences, managing host stand, be able to keep the vibe up and lively, and have lots of interactions with guests to build restaurant’s regular base. Experience handling customer complaints and recovering required. Experience with RESY preferred.
