Responsibilities
Priorities can often change in a fast-paced environment like ours, so this role includes, but is not limited to, the following responsibilities:
· Oversee all project design activities and serves as the primary point of contact for the client on the project.
· Perform design or portions of the design for the project as needed.
· Coordinate the preparation of design, construction drawings and technical specifications of the design of the project as needed.
· Responsible for the design quality, delivery of contracted scope, meeting project objectives, requirements, schedules, and budget.
· Accountable for the success of the project, both to the Firm and the Client.
· A clear understanding of the project’s scope of work, Client’s expectation and execution strategy.
· Keep essential in-house team informed throughout the development of the project and consult on major issues to ensure the expected outcome of the project.
Requirements
Essential Skills and Experience:
· Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
· 10 plus years of design experience for HVAC and Plumbing systems for a variety of facilities for medical, educational, institutional and state agency and municipal projects.
· Have PE in Mechanical Engineering in the state of NY or NJ with ability to get one via reciprocity.
· Serve as technical lead for design execution of projects with Experience in the Design of Heating, Ventilating, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) of Buildings and other facilities. General knowledge of the design of plumbing, Fire Protection systems and electrical a plus.
· Attend site visits and coordination meetings for the Projects as needed.
· The ability to sign and seal a drawing is a plus.
