Yard Spotter

Yard Truck Operator will assist operations in an active drop and hook trailer and container loading operation; driving and monitoring trailer and container yard entries possibly using a handheld computer or tablet. Must be able to work a rotating first shift 6am-4pm, Monday thru Thursday 4 weeks, Thursday thru Sunday 4 weeks.

- Responsible to maintain a neat and orderly lot oriented toward maximizing efficiency in servicing customer needs
- Operate Yard Truck in a safe manner during numerous moves daily
- Drive and operate vehicle safely
- Input trailer and container movements into the Yard Management System
- Must function and interact daily with Warehouse personnel and compliant with safety requirements
- Communicate using the 2-way radio with dispatch, operation, and customer personnel
- Evaluate reefer unit performance and fuel levels
- Other duties and tasks assigned by management
QUALIFICATIONS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. - At least 1-year verifiable experience as a yard mule operator.
- Class A CDL Preferred
- Safe drivers with excellent MVR & PSP preferred
- Able to work outside in variable weather conditions including high-temperature summer months.
- 18 years or older and legally able to work in the U.S.
- Pass a drug screen, physical, and background check.
- Read, write and fluent in English.
- Must have the ability to function effectively in a fast paced, team-oriented work environment
- Must have the ability to work independently with limited supervision and strong initiative
- Must be able to work (flexible hours) extended hours including nights, overtime, weekends, often with little or no prior notification and until operations are complete
- Valid Driver's License is required

- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use their fingers
- The employee is occasionally required to lift, carry, push and pull up to 50 pounds
- Must be able to wear all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) without restriction and pass any medical examination associated with the use of said PPE
