We are seeking an Environmental, Health & Safety Manager for our North Baltimore, Ohio manufacturing facility.
Position Summary:
Direct and guide all aspects of the EHS program in a unionized manufacturing setting. The Environmental, Health and Safety team is tasked with ensuring compliance with OSHA and EPA standards and Corporate EHS policies.
Essential Job Functions:

Manage environmental, health, and safety activities through strong leadership, training, communication, and motivation.

Guide the development and implementation of Health & Safety policies and programs.

Coordinate and provide safety training for all employees in the areas of Safety, Fire Prevention, and Loss Control.

Administer New Hire Orientation Safety Training.

Investigate and maintain records for all work related injuries and/or illnesses, provide statistical analysis, and assist department management in the development of effective health and safety counter-measures to continuously improve safety objectives.

Oversee/Administer the Worker's Compensation Program and implement an effective plan for minimizing and reducing worker injuries and associated costs in relationship to measurable data from State of Indiana resources.

Ensure legislative compliance with OSHA, EPA, ADA, Fire Codes, and serve as a liaison with area OSHA representatives.

Serve as co-chair on the Safety Committee and help to coordinate activities, recommendations, and accountability of issues identified by the Safety Committee.

Conduct routine workplace safety inspections and establish measurable standards from which further recommendations (continuous improvement) can be made, with effective follow-up.

Coordinate emergency evacuation procedures, training, and practice drills.

Direct management team relating to health and safety issues.

Keep the Human Resources Manager, Plant Manager and Corporate Director of Environment, Health and Safety up-to-date on matters relating to health and safety.

Performs workplace inspections and monitors compliance with all Health and Safety, ISO14001 and TS16949 policies and procedures.
- Leader in safety talks, staff meetings, toolbox meetings, accident/incident investigation program, training new employees, correcting unsafe acts or conditions, and correcting or commending health and safety performance.

Establish safety goals and objectives, review of safety statistics and loss runs and lead formal management safety committee.
Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Industrial Hygiene or a related field of study.

At least five years in Health, Safety, and Environmental experience with a strong preference in a manufacturing facility.

Must have a strong working knowledge of Industrial Ergonomics.

Demonstrated strength with analytical/problem solving, oral and written communication, Microsoft Office applications and organizational skills.
Certificates and Licenses:
Certificates from the Board of Certified Safety Professionals, Institute of Hazardous Materials Management or the American Board of Industrial Hygiene are desirable.
