POSITION SUMMARY
The YWCA NSRCC Program Director provides supervision to the Lynn site staff and volunteer advocates within the service area of 29 cities and towns. This position oversees outreach and engagement with schools, medical communities, legal communities, etc within the service area. The program director is responsible for creating, overseeing, and marketing professional and educational trainings alongside staff in meeting the needs of the community. The program director is responsible for volunteer management efforts including volunteer recruitment, volunteer retention and recognition; the planning, facilitation, and maintenance of initial and ongoing training.
The Program Director is also responsible for providing direct service on an as-needed basis including individual counseling, group counseling, medical accompaniment, police/legal accompaniment, and participating on the hotline and medical advocacy rotation. This includes conducting intakes, safety assessments, safety planning, and providing case management.
Staff Support
1. Provide weekly scheduled and as needed supervision to Lynn site staff and volunteers in their role as counselors to survivors of sexual assault and non-offending loved ones.
2. Ensure coverage for the office, presentations, hotline, and medical advocacy.
3. Hold weekly staff meetings and case review with team members.
Training
1. Participate in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of YWCA RCC Training.
2. Maintain the ongoing development of training curriculum for YWCA RCC Training.
3. Compile training evaluations.
4. In collaboration with program directors and coordinators, plan and staff ongoing training opportunities for volunteer advocates
5. Create, oversee, and market professional trainings
6. Collaborate with YWCA Development Team to recruit volunteers to staff fundraising events.
7. Maintain database for tracking volunteer data.
8. Track performance outcomes for grants.
9. Participate in agency grant and contract reporting as directed by supervisor.
Outreach & Community Education
1. Oversee the planning and implementation of survivor outreach efforts.
2. Attend and participate in community meetings and functions.
3. Represent the YWCA NSRCC at meeting funders and program groups as assigned.
4. Maintain up-to-date training materials for community education efforts.
5. Respond to requests for community education presentations and schedule staff presenters.
6. Participate in Awareness Month committees (October & April); plan and organize events.
Survivor Services Duties and Responsibilities
1. Provide direct services to survivors of sexual assault through counseling services
2. Staffing the hotline and medical advocacy crisis line on a rotating basis with other employees and volunteers 3. Handling any walk-in crisis
4. Respond to the hospital for medical advocacy calls on a rotating basis with other staff on an as needed basis.
5. Input hotline and medical schedule on answering service website for on-call rotation.
6. Attend court/police appointments with survivors to provide support in navigating legal services.
Volunteer Recruitment, Screening, and Assignment (volunteers, student interns, and work study students)
1. Spearhead volunteer recruitment efforts for both domestic violence and sexual assault programs in Lynn and serve as the initial contact for all potential volunteers.
2. Maintain available position postings on YWCA website and other relevant community volunteer recruitment sites. 3. Facilitate in connecting potential volunteers and interns to Human Resources to complete a CORI
4. Sets yearly goals for volunteer staffing with the support of direct supervisor.
5. Enroll, orient, and provide ongoing support for SA volunteers.
6. Recognition and Retention of volunteers
7. Provide consultation and support to YWCA staff working with volunteers.
8. Gather data from all program directors and coordinators including current and updated information on volunteers, volunteer hours, exit interviews, and surveys.
General Responsibilities
1. Maintain staff, volunteer, and client files and agency forms as required.
2. Adhere to agency policies and work rules, including confidentiality and code of ethics.
3. Meet regularly with supervisor for supervision and consultation.
4. Participate in agency staff meetings and other team meetings as required by supervisor.
5. Attend training and continuing education activities as assigned.
6. Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS Must Have
● M.A. or M.S. Degree in related field or an equivalent combination of experience and education; Four years supervisory experience.
● Four years of experience providing services to survivors including two years in a DV/SA Association
● Completion of the Association's 40 hour DV/SA counselor training, or equivalent, and a strong desire to work with survivors – survivors are encouraged to apply
● Commitment to respecting individual differences and serving diverse populations
● Exceptional organizational and communication skills and an ability to inspire a team
● Experience designing and implementing effective systems and procedures
● Experience and knowledge in local community service agencies
● Experience using standard computer software to improve operational efficiency
● Comfort in learning new computer software
● Access to reliable transportation
● Valid driver's license ● Bilingual preferred
