Responsibilities:
At The Reggie Lewis Track & Athletic Center, we owe our success to the efficiency of organizational processes. To help maintain and grow this standard, we're seeking an experienced Operations Coordinator to oversee daily activities. This individual will play a crucial role in maintaining a safe, organized, and welcoming environment for athletes, coaches, and the community. The ideal candidate will have a sharp business mind and proven success in managing union employees and event staff. This position plays a key role in ensuring a safe, efficient, and enjoyable experience for all patrons utilizing the facility.
The Operations Coordinator at the Reggie Lewis Track & Athletic Center plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day operations and maintenance of the facility, with a strong focus on labor-driven tasks. This position requires a hands-on approach to support various activities, primarily related to but not limited to the track and fieldhouse. He/ She will work closely with the maintenance crew to maintain a clean, safe, and efficient environment for athletes, staff, coaches, and visitors. He/ She will have strong leadership skills, excellent communication abilities, and a passion for promoting health and wellness. The ideal candidate for the Operations Coordinator position must be adaptable to working morning and/ or evening shifts, with weekend availability required.
Essential Functions:
- Assist with the overall operations at the center

Perform duties as event manager (or supervisor) for all assigned events

Assist with daily facility operations
-
Ensure the facility is ready for use by all constituents, ensuring it meets safety and performance standards.

Perform regular inspections and basic repairs to track equipment and facilities.

Thoroughly clean and sanitize gymnasium and fieldhouse bleacher seating areas before and after events.

Regularly inspect and address any issues with the gymnasium and fieldhouse bleacher structures to ensure safety and functionality.

Collaborate with the maintenance crew to address any building-related issues promptly.

Coordinate with the maintenance team for larger-scale maintenance projects.

Work collaboratively with the maintenance team to support various tasks and projects as needed.

Conduct routine cleaning of common areas within the facility, including the fieldhouse, to maintain a neat and organized environment.

Address any immediate cleaning needs, spills, or messes promptly to ensure a clean and safe space for all users.

Support the maintenance of outdoor areas surrounding the facility, ensuring a well-maintained and aesthetically pleasing appearance.

Assist in snow removal and other seasonal groundskeeping tasks.

Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines while performing duties.

Report any safety hazards, equipment malfunctions, or maintenance issues promptly.

Job Requirements:

High school diploma or GED
-
6 + months previous work experience
-
Previous experience in a labor-driven role, preferably in facility maintenance.

Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, carrying, and operating equipment.

Basic knowledge of track and field equipment and maintenance practices is a plus.

Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high cleanliness standards.

Excellent teamwork and communication skills.

Previous experience in facility management, preferably in an athletic or recreational setting.

Strong organizational and leadership skills.

Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

Working Knowledge of Microsoft office

Knowledge of sports and athletic event coordination.

First Aid and CPR certification (6 months to complete).

Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
Physical Requirements:
This position requires the ability to lift heavy objects (minimum 50 lbs) perform manual labor, and work in various weather conditions.
Additional Information:
Compensation: $45,000 - $50,000 (Commensurate with experience and qualifications)
