Job Overview:
- Responsible for the repair and maintenance of over twenty tractors and twenty cryogenic tankers.
- Responsible for maintaining compliance with all DOT/state/ local requirements. Have a combination of training and/or experience totaling at least 1 year. Such training and/or experience may consist of:
- Participation in a truck manufacturer-sponsored training program or similar commercial training program designed to train students in truck operation and maintenance.
- Experience as a mechanic or inspector in a motor carrier maintenance program.
- Experience as a mechanic or inspector in truck maintenance at a commercial garage, fleet leasing company, or similar facility.
- Experience as a commercial vehicle inspector for a State, Provincial or Federal Government.
- This role will require availability for nights and weekends.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on all fleet equipment
- Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain rolling stock, running gear, suspension systems, etc.
- Maintain fleet appearance by repairing and re-fabricating body parts
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and correct instrumentation and control system issues
- Understand and utilize various diagnostic and calibration equipment
- Read and maintain schematic wiring diagrams
- Read and understand manufacturer manuals
- Understand, troubleshoot, and repair cryogenic pumping systems
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 1 year experience and understanding of 49 CFR §396 and state and local regulations
- Knowledge of 12v electrical systems
- Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Word and Excel
- Able to work nights, weekends, overtime and on call as required
Preferred Qualifications:
- CDL class A with hazmat and tanker endorsement
- Cryogenic tanker experience
- ASE certified Diesel Mechanic
- Fabricating and welding experience
- Air brake certification
- Air conditioner repair certification
