We are looking for an experienced Quality Engineering Supervisor, for our Huntsville, AL location. Ridgeview Industries is a leading metal stamping, welding and assembly manufacturing company primarily serving the automotive market. Our privately held, employee owned company, founded upon Christian principles, currently employs approximately 600 team members across 4 plant locations.
Primary responsibility’s:
- Lead a team of Customer Quality Engineers, Plant Quality Engineers and Subordinates
- Demonstrate and coach with a supervisory philosophy that balances the need for results and process accountability, along with sincere appreciation and respect for all members of the team
- Identify, propose and facilitate activities that drive intentional, incremental and sustainable improvements
- Positive communication and follow through to create an environment of mutual respect, healthy conflict, constructive interaction and team accountability
- Meet with direct reports (review priorities, issues, and open action items)
- Cultivate positive employee relationships through proactive communication, timely response to employee concerns and follow through on requested information
- Participate in and approve customer and internal corrective actions
- Prepare for and meet with Corporate Quality Manager to review status of customer concerns and overall quality within plant
- Review material in nonconforming area with Plant Quality Engineer, and provide disposition or provide information to Corporate Quality Manager
- Support Plant Quality Engineers in plant-level quality concerns as needed (parts, processes, fixtures, work center information etc.)
- Communicate best practices & ensure read across occurs with West Michigan team (Corporate Quality Manager, Quality Engineers)
- Making sure processes adhere to quality standards
- Safety oriented and compliant with Safety protocols and procedures
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/related discipline preferred, or equivalent work experience
- Working knowledge of quality systems and documentation in auto manufacturing environment desired
- Demonstrated follow through on personal and team commitments
- Ability to supervise, motivate and develop a team of Quality Engineers
- Ability to communicate effectively with management, co-workers, and customers
- Strong problem-solving skills in support of quality issues
- A self-starter, critical thinker who is well organized and has the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- Proficient with Microsoft Office
