POSTION SUMMARY
In this position you will work together with all members of the Manufacturing Staff to perform a wide variety of complex assembly and sub-assembly tasks, to include soldering, wiring, and crimping. Requires a strong mechanical aptitude, proven fabrication skills, the ability to take specific directions and perform repetitive skills daily. Previous experience with wiring and molding cable assemblies is a plus and welcomed. During employment, the role will work towards learning more electrical technician skills as they relate to the role.
MUST REQUIREMENTS - HSD/GED, with 3 years of mechanical assembly experience in a manufacturing production environment or equivalent industry.
- Must have solid mechanical aptitude to assemble and modify sub-assemblies, final assemblies and systems per manufacturing drawings and instructions.
- Must have command of the English language, both written and verbal.
- Must have good hand dexterity and hand eye coordination.
- Must be legally entitled to work in the U.S.
- Must be able to work in noisy or quiet environments without inner ear distractions.
- Strong familiarity with ISO 9001 and 5S process and procedures.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds and sit or stand for long periods of time.
MECHANICAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform mechanical assembly, test set up and general engineering support.
- Identify mechanical problems and engage with mechanical support for recommendations or solutions.
- Assemble, align and test mechanical & electrical sub-assemblies according to product diagrams, schematics, written instruction, and/or samples.
- Perform wiring and molding of cable assemblies, various lengths.
- Performs labeling, part marking, testing, recording data, QC submission of data.
- Prepare, process, clean, install, assemble, disassemble, calibrate, test, and inspect products.
- Perform quality checks and documentation on all repairs and new production 100% of the time.
- Identify units that fail tests and/or tolerance levels and repairs on customer equipment and new production.
MECHANICAL SKILLS NEEDED
- Strong ability to use both digital and manual scales in metric and imperial units.
- Solid ability to add and subtract both fractional and decimal units.
- Demonstrate the ability to read, understand and follow engineering assembly drawings, bill of materials, manufacturing procedures, work instructions, and other supporting documentation.
- Proven ability to use hand and power tools to assemble units according to product specifications.
- Demonstrate ability to follow instructions and ask questions for clarification if/when needed.
- Able to organize and set up work areas to maximize quality and production.
- Effectively communicate both verbally and in writing with engineering, quality, and management to resolve assembly problems.
- Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Capacity to multi-task, work with a sense of urgency, meet tight deadlines, and work overtime.
- Confident in ability to write and collaborate on instructional documentation, write reports and correspondence in legible and professional manner.
