Trimmers will work as a team under the direction of the Cultivation Coordinator and will perform cannabis plant harvesting drying, curing, and packaging activities at Waabigwan Mashkiki, LLC, following precise company standards. This position will work on a varying schedule to meet production and processing needs of the company, including days, evenings, nights, some holidays, and weekends as business needs arise. Hands on training will take place to provide Trimmers with the knowledge and skills needed to perform their job as a part of our vertically integrated cannabis seed-to-sale business.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
The following are included; other duties may be assigned:
- Successfully performs harvesting activities of cannabis production by shucking, fan leaf removal, cutting, moving, and hanging plants into designated drying or curing areas, collecting all plant material waste, and cleaning and sterilizing assigned work areas following company standards to ensure optimal product quality.
- Accurately and efficiently operates hand tools and equipment to trim leaves after the drying and curing processes have been completed.
- Sorts, separates, and organizes trimmed product material into designated bins and containers by buds, trim, and stem. Weighs and documents that all components of separated plant material categories are equal to the amount of material that was worked on per batch, bin, and container.
- Ensures that plant tags always stay with their respective plants all the way through the process to reconcile product and data tracking.
- Attends weekly meetings to maintain constant communication, providing feedback and input on any issues that affect the plan and operations.
- Maintains a clean and organized work site performing daily cleaning activities of assigned work area including daily cleaning and sterilization procedures.
- Observes and monitors plant and product conditions during the harvest, dry, cure and trim process to ensure that the company's high-quality standards are maintained.
- Works with consultants and managers to develop additional knowledge about varying strain characteristics, how to identify environmental issues that could affect plants and products such as pests and pathogens, and how to effectively harvest, dry, cure, trim and package cannabis products for optimal timing and outcomes.
- Calculate figures such as discounts, interest, percentages, area, and volume.
- Perform multiple tasks in a timely manner.
- Assist other office staff in their time of need; maintain a team player attitude
- Skilled in telephone procedures, etiquette, diplomacy.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Language Skills
- Ability to read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers.
- Ability to print and speak simple sentences.
Mathematical Skills
- Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's.
- Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
Reasoning Ability
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
- Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
Qualifications, Education & Experience:
- Possess valid driver’s license, Tribal or State ID
- A Drug Free Workplace – Tests for alcohol and illegal drug use may be required prior to and during employment. Background Checks performed
- Must be twenty-one (21) years or older.
- Able to pass background check and drug screening.
- Able to maintain strict confidentiality.
- No felony drug convictions within the previous ten (10) years.
- Must fully meet the licensing requirements of the White Earth Medical Cannabis Control Board and be licensed to dispense medical cannabis according to the rules and regulations promulgated by the White Earth Medical Cannabis Control Board, in accordance to the White Earth Medicinal Cannabis Code.
