Department: POST PARTUM
Shift Timings: 23:00-07:30 Hours Monday to friday (5 Days/8 Hours)
Per Week: 40 Hours
This unit is the MBU unit that houses 72 beds. Every other weekend rotation is mandatory.
Roles & Responsibilities
Postpartum nurses provide specialist care for new mothers and their babies immediately following childbirth. They assess the physical and emotional needs of both mother and baby, provide education and advice on infant care, monitor the mother's recovery and ensure the health of the newborn.
- Provide physical and emotional care to postpartum mothers and their newborns
- Monitor vital signs and initiate appropriate interventions as required
- Answer patient questions and provide education and support
- Assist with breastfeeding and bottle feeding
- Provide advice to new parents on newborn care
- Develop and implement individualized patient care plans
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed
- Document patient progress and provide timely reports to physicians
Minimum Qualifications
Registered Nurse with experience in obstetrics and/or postnatal care
Knowledge of postnatal care and newborn care
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Ability to provide emotional support for mothers and families
Job Type: Contract
Pay: Up to $75.34 per hour
