We currently have openings for Phlebotomist 1 at our donor center locations, throughout the DFW area, Tyler, and Waco. This position provides a unique opportunity to build relationships with different donors where they live and/or work.
What you will be doing:

You are responsible for safely, and accurately drawing blood for tests, transfusions, donations, or research.
- Be meticulous all day, every day. This ensures that the blood you collect meets regulatory requirements and can be safely transfused.
- Take the time to personally connect with donors, listen to their stories, and help them understand how impactful their volunteer donation is by explaining the procedure and assist in the recovery of donors who experience adverse reactions.

Collaborate with your teammates to create a welcoming and friendly environment so our volunteer donors feel comfortable returning and encouraging their friends and family to donate. .
Location: DFW area, Tyler, and Waco
Job type: Full-time
Training Schedule in Tyler, TX (first 6 to 8 weeks)
Classroom (Monday-Friday 8 am – 5 pm) and Field training (days & hours will vary depending on Mobile Drives or Donor Center hours)
Donor Center Scheduling following Training:
To meet the needs of our donors and community, employees work a variable schedule which may include after 5:00 PM on weekdays and weekend days.
What are we looking for?
Required minimum qualifications:

Authorized to work in the U.S
-
High school diploma or equivalent
- Six months to 1 year of general work experience or education in the medical field that includes comparable expertise, such as an internship or externship.

Customer service experience and effective verbal communication skills (e.g. front-facing, routinely interacting with the public)

Competitive pay:

Starting base hourly rate $18.00 (can be increased based on the years of directly related experience)

Additional opportunity to earn:

Bilingual (Spanish) differential (must pass testing) - $2.00/hr.

Weekend differential - $1.00/hr.
