ANNOUNCEMENT OF POSITION VACANCY
SUMMARY: The project coordinator will provide administrative and programmatic support to all Projects CAMINOS related transactions, projects and activities. Collaborate and support all grant related activities and initiatives. In addition, provide prospective, in-coming and current students with general advising guidance.
SOME OF THE THINGS THAT YOU WILL GET TO DO (this is just a small sampling of work variety):

Support the Co-Project Directors and other Activity Directors with grant related activities and priorities.
- Collaborate with K-12 partners to increase a-g completion, dual enrollment and college going efforts.

Partner with community college partners to support ADT and golden four completion and transfer efforts.

Assist prospective students discover Cal Poly Pomona, academic major selection and preparation, application process, accept admission offer, and navigate pre-transition steps.
- Engage in outreach activities and presentations to high schools and community colleges.

Represent Project CAMINOS at virtual and in-person recruitment program such as school site visits, college fairs, parent meetings, community forums, and other outreach events.
- Strengthen parental involvement workshops and
- Assist with data collection, evaluation, and assessment.

Coordinate large- and small-scale events, one-on-one appointments, and e-mail communication to prospective students and community partners.
Provide Advising and Guidance

Have in-depth knowledge of campus services and resources to effectively refer students to the appropriate provider.

Have general knowledge of the admissions, enrollment, and financial aid process.
-
Provide workshops and presentations to a wide audience.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
-
Bachelor’s degree in one of behavioral sciences, public administration, business administration or job-related field
-
Two years of experience in a student service program area or related field – a Master’s degree in a job-related field may be substituted for one year of experience.

Ability to interact with a diverse student population, staff and the public
-
Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with a variety of individuals.

Demonstrated ability to multitask, initiate, and follow through with varied projects
-
Experience overseeing student staff.
PREFFERED QUALIFICATIONS:

Working knowledge of the practices, procedures, and activities of the program to which assigned
-
General knowledge of the methods and problems of organizational and program management.
- General knowledge of research and interview techniques; and of the principles of individual and group behavior.
- Ability to reason logically; collect, compile, analyze and evaluate data and make verbal or written presentations based on these data

Ability to advise students individually and in groups on routine matters where required
-
Ability to recognize multicultural, multi-sexed and multi-aged value systems and work accordingly

Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with faculty, CSU administrators, student organizations, private and public agencies and others in committee work, and student advising and community contact.

Ability to rapidly acquire a general knowledge of the overall operation, functions and programs of the campus to which assigned.
