SUMMARY
Our field service technician performs a wide variety of duties to install, maintain, test, and repair simple to complex electrical, mechanical, and melting products, mainly at the customer’s facility. While providing high quality technical support, resolving concerns and answering questions, our field service technicians become our front-line representatives to customers.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
This list of duties and responsibilities is not all-inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities, as management may deem necessary from time to time.
· Install, troubleshoot, and maintain products/equipment at customer sites, usually foundries and factories
· Repair electronic or mechanical failures and replace parts
· Document steps taken to correct the problem and give feedback information to the Technical Director or Field Service Manager
· Conduct training and service programs in the operation and maintenance of equipment, for customer’s employees
· Provide technical support to customers over the phone, addressing and resolving questions and problems
· Test and repair components sent into the Company from customers
· Complete all required records and documentation for customers and for the Company
· Actively look for opportunities to sell Company products and aftermarket parts
· Travel 75% - 90% required – primarily in the United States, Canada, and Mexico
· Overnight travel can be expected
QUALIFICATIONS

Education / Skills
Requires Associates degree in electronics field or equivalent. Minimum two years’ experience in electronics and electrical / mechanical functions. Use of oscilloscopes, multi meters, signal generators, and computer skills. Familiarity with PLC programming. Strong technical skills. Requires a basic knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook), Access and internet searching. Ability to work independently, but also as part of the team.
Language Skills
Requires effective oral and written communication skills in order to interact with customers, vendors and all employee levels within the Company.
Mathematical Skills
Requires mathematical skills that require the ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and use hands to finger, handle or touch objects, tools or controls. This employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, and bend. The employee is required to frequently listen and talk. The employee must occasionally lift 10 to 25 pounds when filing records in boxes or unloading supplies. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.

Frequent trips to manufacturing areas will be required. The noise level in the manufacturing environment is usually moderate to loud. When the employee works in an office environment the noise level is quiet to moderate.
