Trissential is seeking a Part-Time Data Engineer with expertise in Power BI to join our remote client team. The successful candidate will be self-motivated and capable of working independently on complex data engineering tasks using Power BI. The ideal candidate will have proven experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar role, with solid Power BI skills, a strong ability to work independently, excellent problem-solving skills, and effective communication capabilities. Additionally, this role requires a strong foundation in software engineering principles, data management, and cloud technologies. This role is open only to candidates authorized to work and reside in the US.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain advanced reporting, analytics, dashboards, and other BI solutions using Power BI

Perform data modeling, visualization, and performance optimization on Power BI

Ensure data accuracy and integrity in dashboards and reports

Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and refine specifications and requirements based on technical needs

Develop and maintain robust data models to support analytical and reporting requirements

Collaborate with data scientists, analysts and business users to understand data requirements and deliver actionable insights

Optimize and tune data processing workflows for performance and scalability

Ensure data quality and integrity through data validation and cleansing processes

Stay up to date with industry trends and best practices in data engineering and big data technologies
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Management Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field; advanced degree preferred

Proven experience with Power BI and leading efforts to utilize Power BI
- Strong ability to work independently and manage time effectively

Essential skills:
- Strong people skills and the ability to work with the business to identify and solve problems using Power BI

Advanced proficiency in Power BI, including data modeling, visualization, and performance optimization

Experience with Power BI Service for publishing and sharing reports, and managing workspaces and datasets

Ability to integrate Power BI with various data sources, including SQL databases, cloud platforms, and APIs

Proficiency in creating and maintaining Power BI dashboards that are visually appealing and user-friendly

Understanding of data security and governance within Power BI, including row-level security and data classification

Skills in troubleshooting and optimizing Power BI performance issues

Demonstrated expertise in ensuring data accuracy and integrity in Power BI reports and dashboards

Proven track record of gathering and refining specifications and requirements from stakeholders for Power BI projects

Hands-on experience integrating Power BI with various data sources, such as SQL databases, cloud platforms, and APIs
Benefits:
Trissential offers a competitive compensation package for part-time roles. The hourly pay range for this role is $65 to $75, depending on the candidate's qualifications and experience. This role is estimated to be one day a week for approximately 6 months.
