PNWOMS is seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our team as a Surgical Assistant. This position plays a pivotal role in overseeing the clinical operations, ensuring exceptional patient care, and fostering a positive work environment within our surgical departments.
Responsibilities:
- Personnel Management:
- Facilitate communication of department decisions and policies to clinical team members.
- Ensure a safe environment for patients and compliance with safety regulations.
- Contribute to responsibilities and ensure expectations of team patients and members.
- Provide leadership in coordinating daily procedures and minimizing staff or patient issues.
- Resource Management:
- Assist in daily operations of surgical department to streamline patient care.
- Assist in developing and implementing clinical structures and processes.
- Assist in training others and ensure expectations are met.
- Professionalism:
- Clearly communicate goals to team members and promote professional behavior.
- Serve as a role model for effective patient care, leadership, and professionalism.
- Participate in developing and contributing to clinical policies and procedures.
- Training and Development:
- Provide hands-on surgical and clinical training to peers.
- Coach the clinical team based on doctor preferences.
- Ensure contribution for trained and certified assistants on digital scanning and other relevant technologies.
- Commitment and Dedication:
- Cross-over position between clinical team and administrative team.
- Dedication to learning from doctors and training the entire team in individual in-service sessions.
- Implement new technology, workflows, and instrumentation through team training.
Requirements:
- Certification in phlebotomy/intravenous techniques preferred.
- Dental Anesthesia Assistant National Certification (DAANCE) is preferred.
- Extensive experience in surgical assistance and sterilization preferred.
- Strong leadership and/or team player skills.
- Excellent organizational and communication abilities.
- Ability to work in a high-stress, fast-paced medical environment.
- Physical stamina for long shifts and the ability to lift heavy equipment.
