The high level:
The Program Operations Associate (POA) is versatile, dynamic, and provides great insight into many areas of organizational functional areas. The main role of the POA is to provide both administrative and capacity-building support to the regional team in a variety of functional areas regionally and nationally. At the regional level, the Program Operations Associate reports directly to the Program Director. The POA works collaboratively with all members of the regional team and key national departments. The POA role is an exciting opportunity for an energetic, highly organized, and innovative professional.
What you’ll do:
Collaborate closely with the Program and Community Engagement Teams to drive critical AmeriCorps and Literacy Tutor recruitment and onboarding at the local level to meet annual recruitment goals. This includes providing on-the-ground support and leadership in recruitment and hiring, AmeriCorps member training, and technology support.
Lead on all operational aspects of AmeriCorps hiring, including:
Timely email communication to candidates
Phone screens and interviews
Post-hire engagement
Ensure all hiring and prerequisite tasks are completed so that all members begin service on time
Lead AmeriCorps training and professional development:
Establish orientation schedules for new and senior members
Plan Team Days and coordinate ongoing professional development
Leading training as needed
Establish and maintain member hours calculators
Lead hiring, placement, training and timecards of Reading Partners Literacy Intervention Tutors
Lead planning and execution of AmeriCorps experience in the region
Plan team and community building opportunities on non-instructional days, throughout the service year, and the end-of-year celebration
Solicit and analyze feedback from AmeriCorps Members to take actionable steps
Provide support to the Program and Community Engagement Teams
Support training and newsletter creation for tutors
Support program operations in reading centers through coverage of centers, tutoring, and general support
Manage regional curriculum, technology, and supplies
Create and manage systems to track curriculum, materials, supplies and technology
Ordering materials as needed
Solicit feedback from AmeriCorps Members, tutors and staff on needs
Maintain and manage supplies and materials budgets across teams
Provide day-to-day administrative support to the region by managing all supply orders. Other duties as needed.

Demonstrate an ability to create processes and systems to streamline internal operations in the region. Demonstrate a high level of comfort with ambiguity, and an ability to create order. Demonstrate an aptitude for framing problems as opportunities, and always pushing to further streamline.

We aim to set salaries based on objective, external, high-quality market data. Our salaries are adjusted for candidates in different geographic regions. We do our very best to ensure that we’re bringing our best offer - therefore we do not engage in salary negotiations.
This is a full-time, non-exempt, and hourly position. The pay range for this position is $25.50 - $30.01 per hour.

The other things you need to know:
Travel: This position travels regularly throughout the New York City area including the South Bronx, Manhattan, Brooklyn and Queens. The position will primarily be based at the Reading Partners office in Manhattan and spend time at school sites across the city.

Have up to 2 years of high volume, fast-paced operations, office management, or executive support role
