Johnson & Quin specializes in producing large volume direct mail and integrated communication campaigns for well-known marketing companies throughout the U.S. Our teams use the latest technology in data processing, security, personalization and mailing to create highly personalized and variable communications.
POSITION FUNCTION
Responsible for scheduling all direct mail production workflow from the time the Sales department puts in a production request until the job is finished in the Personalization, Bindery, and Lettershop departments. Additionally, will act as a back-up/fill-in for the Production Planning department who estimates and purchases for jobs.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

Receives a request for schedule from Sales department to begin the preliminary schedule of production. This includes working backwards using the drop date to analyze and develop appropriate timeframes for each department to fulfill their part in the job.

Schedules and prioritizes jobs based on capacities of each department including drop date, cost, priority, labor requirements, currently scheduled workflow, production priorities, customer rapport, etc. while continually revising current production schedules to accommodate these priorities as necessary.

Utilizes a Gannt Chart application (PrintFlow) to forecast and schedule production equipment.

Continually communicates job flow and calendar information regarding any schedule alerts, changes, revisions, and updates in scheduling to the Production Services Manager, Production Planners, respective manufacturing department managers and assigned Account Managers to keep clients and the respective internal personnel informed as to the job status.

Facilitates daily company production meetings to discuss status and issues concerning any jobs. This includes troubleshooting and helping resolve any issues, problems, or concerns that may occur during the production cycle.

Tracks each job ensuring production plans are achieved in the plant from shift to shift and that production meets its given drop date.

Confers with the Production Planners to obtain print dates, arrival of stock, or other information that is key in the proper scheduling and manufacture of each job.

Troubleshoots with Operations and Production Managers to analyze and correct production issues and look for solutions to improve future production.

Supports Production Planners with administrative tasks as needed, including merging established estimates to jobs, creating purchase orders, distributing vendor proofs to Account Manager, and quality inspections.

Completes other various duties as assigned by manager.

WORKING CONDITIONS
Normal office environment and some exposure to a manufacturing plant facility onsite, protective personal equipment required in select areas of manufacturing. This role may be eligible for a hybrid schedule (3 days onsite, 2 days remote), schedule to be approved by Manager.

Requirements:
QUALIFICATIONS

2+ years’ experience in project management, scheduling, or direct mail planning.

Associate degree or higher with coursework in direct marketing or commercial printing preferred. Equivalent work experience is acceptable in lieu of a degree.

Ability to maintain a high level of organization win handling multiple projects and priorities.

Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft 365 programs, including Excel.

Strong problem solving, math, and analytical skills.

Strong oral and written communication skills.
